Student Art Contest

The Student Art Contest is open to all school-aged youth. Students or their parents or teachers may print copies of any of the Missouri Waterfowl Festival and Sports Show sketches and use any medium to color, or paint the sketch for entry into the contest.
Admission to the Festival will be free to contestants entering the Student Art Contest.

The following rules and information applies to all contestants:
Only one (1) entry will be allowed per student.
Students may create and enter an original wildlife related work, if desired.
All entries must be 8 ½ “ X 11” and not framed, matted, glassed, or have a fixed cover sheet or border.
All entries must have the students name, address, and grade on the back of the art work.
Any media may be used to complete the entry, but care must be taken by the contestant to ensure the paint is dry, or in the case of chalk, pastel or charcoal entries, they must be sprayed with at fixative. The Festival Staff will handle each entry with care, but will not be responsible for any damage that occurs under any circumstance.
Entries will be accepted at the Festival Saturday morning and judged Saturday afternoon. No entries will be accepted for judging after noon on Saturday.
No entry may be removed from the display area until Sunday afternoon. Students or parents or teachers are responsible for picking up the entries on Sunday afternoon.
Winners will be awarded trophies (1 st Place) and other prizes. During judging the display area will be closed to contestants and the public.
Judging will be by competent judges for the following categories:
Elementary; for grades up to and including 5 th Grade.
Junior; for grades 6, 7 and 8.
Senior; for grades 9, 10, 11 and 12.
